These are not the wild nuts common in Maine.  They closely resemble the store-bought varieties. Our hazelnuts are a seedling cross of the famed "Precocious" variety introduced initially by the now-defunct Oikos Trees Crops, and a blight-resistant variety from Badgerset Research.   They are early bearing, delicious, and easy to crack.
